Job Description: Part-Time Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant

Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time (12–16 hours per week)
Salary: £15.00 - £17.50 per hour

Pertemps are recruiting on behalf of a growing and forward-thinking Midlands-based business for an experienced Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant to join their team on a part-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional looking for a flexible role within a fast-paced and expanding company. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring records are accurate, organised and up to date.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing daily bookkeeping duties using Xero
  • Processing invoices, payments and expenses
  • Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
  • Completing bank reconciliations and supporting month-end processes
  • Preparing VAT returns and assisting with payroll administration
  • Monitoring outstanding payments and supplier accounts
  • Assisting with cashflow reporting and financial administration
  • Supporting finance process improvements and maintaining accurate records

Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous bookkeeping or finance assistant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero
  • Understanding of VAT, reconciliations and general finance processes
  • Good Excel and IT skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Able to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Experience within a stock-based or SME environment would be advantageous.
