Job Description:

A market-leading aerospace and defence business working closely with UK MOD and industry primes requires a Commercial Manager. The role would be suited to someone operating at Senior Commercial Officer, looking to "step up" or a seasoned Commercial Manager.


A full lifecycle commercial contract management opportunity, upstream and downstream the Commercial Manager will also work closely with programme teams around the execution of projects. The contracts worked on, our complex ,multi-party defence collaboration and teaming agreements, and previous experience of defence industry contracting would be advantageous in the role.


The business offer a generous compensation package, including private health a bonus structure, hybrid working (2 days in Bristol) and 9-day working fortnight.


Specific duties of the Commercial Manager include:

  • Providing commercial support to bids and sales teams
  • Managing of in-life commercial contract agreements with customers, including change management activity
  • Procurement activity - management of tender processes and managing contracts with supply chain partners
  • Support programme and project teams with the day-to-day management and fulfilment of commercial agreements
  • Support Commercial Management leadership with refining and improving commercial contracts management processes and services offered to stakeholders


Commercial Manager applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Commercial acumen, and commercial contract management expertise both upstream and downstream
  • Knowledge and/or experience of procurement, tendering and contract management lifecycle
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship and business partnering skills
  • Aerospace or defence industry experience is advantageous, but other service delivery focused industries could also work
  • Professional accreditation - MCIPS, WCC a Business or Law qualification would be advantageous but not essential
